At Think Act Vote, we wanted to support One Day Without Shoes. Organised by American Eco Shoe Company Toms, the idea is that for one day we all join together and spread awareness for children around the world who don’t have shoes.
They invite you to host an event, so we set up the Think Act Vote Barefoot Walk around Shoreditch, East London. Despite sending it out to thousands, only a couple of people turned up. So we changed tactics and went to Spitalfields Market, where East London meets the City, and you find everyone from bankers to hipsters to families.
We ran around without shoes, asking people to take off theirs for a photo, whilst explaining to them about Think Act Vote and One Day Without Shoes.
Here are some of our favourite photos:
Thank you to all the wonderful people that took part today! Don’t worry if you missed out, take your shoes off and go for a walk, the day is still young. Or Go Barefoot Virtually.
At Think Act Vote, we are inspiring you to think positively about our future and how the choices that we make every day shape our world. We would love to hear WHAT FUTURE YOU CHOOSE? Your answer may make it into our coffee table book that we are hand delivering to the Prime Minister in June.
