Graham Hill

Graham Hill is the founder of Treehugger.com, the leading media outlet dedicated to driving sustainability mainstream, which he set up in 2003. TreeHugger later became part of Discovery’s Planet Green initiative and is where he currently puts his efforts as VP Interactive, alongside the less but better project; LifeEdited.com. Past businesses also include fashion, viral email and plant-based air filters, and he is also the founder of ceramic cup company, We are happy to serve you. He speaks English, French, German and Spanish and loves kitesurfing, squash and snowboarding. From New York and Maui, he schemes daily about how he can help humanity avoid rapid extinction. One idea he has come up with is to be a Weekday Vegetarian, the subject of his TED Talk and book

?!X: What’s the Future You Choose?

GH: I choose Rick Edwards’ future: “where everything is fairer – the distribution of power, of resources, of respect.”

?!X: What’s a ‘think’ that has made you want to create this future?

GH: The Book Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By In America by Barbara Ehrenreich

?!X: What’s an ‘act’ to create the future you choose?

GH: If you’re someone that makes more than $2 a day, understand how incredibly fortunate you are and acknowledging that, do your part to try and make things a little fairer for those less fortunate.

?!X: What’s a ‘vote’ to create the future you choose?

GH: Lend money to smart, hard-working entrepreneurs via kiva.org.

?!X: What’s your favourite song and why?

GH: That’s a crazy question. I have been enjoying Mr November by The National.

?!X: OK then MR Hill, Soundtrack for the future – what one song would you take with you?

hmmmm, tough one as you’d want one you could listen to a million times. I’d probably pick one that has already stood the test of time…how about Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah?
