Introducing another member of our team, Ikram joins us as a Creative Activist from Paris.

After her studies she decided to take a few months to travel around Europe and figure out what to do next. As a result she started a postgraduate management program in fashion and design at the Institut Français de la Mode.  She describes herself as a persistant challenge seeker with a thirst to broaden her view of the world “What drives me is the will to understand what seems to be different from me”.

?!X: What’s the Future You Choose?

IM: I choose a world where the truth isn’t a privilege but a right.
Where it is accessible to all of us, enabling us to shape our own opinions and to drive our own future.

?!X: What’s a ‘think’ to create this future?

IM: I would like to share with you a moment of a movie that summarizes how I feel today about bringing the change. Though it was filmed in 1976, the questions raised are still extremely current. This movie is “The network”. It is about journalism in the seventies in the United States of America, and how a small television network was struggling with financial issues while trying not to compromise its integrity and to provide qualitative reporting’s within a society where entertainment became one of the only role of television.

?!X: What’s an ‘act’ to create the future you choose?

IM: I believe that feeding our ability to be indignant about what we see as unacceptable is vital. Resisting by expressing our opinions without being the hostages of a “Doxa” or a failing “Intelligentsia”. A wonderful way would be creating independent structures, not exclusively driven by profits and convinced by the power of ethical rules as much as the power of History as a judge.

The impact of visual information’s is so great nowadays, that globally, less and less people read. Not that I praise it, but it is important to bypass it and use a tool that will be quickly accepted by the target. Broadcasting videos on a wide range of subjects (sustainability, human rights, Art, design etc…) through an online channel using several languages (Spanish, English, Arabic, Mandarin etc…) in an educational but yet with a playful dimension would be a fantastic mean. We need to get the youth feel much more concerned about the world they are living in without bringing anxiety but nourishing positivity. We need to make them believe that they have the power of driving and shaping it.

?!X: What’s a ‘vote’ to create the future you choose?

The Frontline

?!X: What’s your favourite song and why?

IM: Like a rolling stone by Bob Dylan, because it the story of glory and arrogance having to face decadence and decline.
