“Unprecedented leadership does not tell others what to do, it provokes the sovereignty, empowerment and alignment of the individual.” ~ Stephanie Mines

About this interview:

How can we help each other to become the sovereign leaders our times are calling for?

In this episode, Amisha connects with neuropsychologist, author, and educator Stephanie Mines. Stephanie is the vision holder for the recent Climate Change & Consciousness Conference held at Findhorn and is a champion and mentor for ‘Unprecedented Leaders’ working on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

Stephanie shares with us some of her personal stories, from an early life impacted by trauma, a career as a trauma therapist and neuroscientist, to her present work of supporting and empowering activist leaders to address the pressing challenges we face. She explains why we must cultivate the art of deep listening – to ourselves and others- and how by doing so we can invoke the kinds of unprecedented leadership we need now.

She tells her story of transcending trauma through self-healing practises and deep listening to her somatic experiences, and the spiritual calling that led her to work as an activist for Mother Earth. She speaks to the immense fear and grief that is present around the climate crisis, and how we can support each other to find balance amongst it all.

Together Amisha and Stephanie share their experiences of initiation, inner alchemy, neuroplasticity, and neural evolution. They discuss the difference between intuition and spiritual guidance and how we can recognise both. They speak about how to recognise spiritual and mental colonialism, become sovereign in our choices, and identify our own unique calling.

“Let your fear be heard. Come together with each other. Those of us who have been initiated into staying in a relationship with ourselves and coming through it over and over again – are closer to stepping into the I that is We – and we are being called to do that for those who need to be heard in their fear and despair.” ~ Stephanie Mines

Dr. Stephanie Mines is a neuropsychologist whose unique understanding comes from her academic research as well as her extensive work in the field. Her stories of personal transformation have led many listeners to become deeply committed to the healing journey. Dr. Mines understands shock from every conceivable perspective. She has investigated it as a survivor, a professional, a healthcare provider, and as a trainer of staffs of institutions and agencies.

Her blend of Western and Eastern modalities offers the best of both paradigms. She is devoted to ending the lineage of shock and trauma for individuals and the world. To this end she has developed the TARA Approach for the Resolution of Shock and Trauma which is taught internationally and is a clinically tested comprehensive treatment design.

Dr. Mines also developed CLIMATE CHANGE & CONSCIOUSNESS. Our Legacy for the Earth. She convened a global gathering in Northern Scotland in April 2019 with keynote leaders like Bill McKibben, Charles Eisenstein, Vandana Shiva and others who inspired the intergenerational community there to take direct action that is now sustained by a movement serving throughout the world. CLIMATE CHANGE & CONSCIOUSNESS NORWAY 2021 will be the next iteration of this assembly of visionary activists.
