“Reclaiming of beauty is absolutely fundamental to what a better future looks like for us all. If we start to use the idea of beauty and understand it properly, and seriously, that it’s foundational to all life, then we have an opportunity of a very different way of being in this world. It is a fundamental part of reconnecting us, to ourselves and to each other and to the natural world to our souls is soulful. Beauty is our homecoming.” Alan Moore

About this interview:

What future would we create if we reclaimed the language of beauty?

“Reclaiming of beauty is absolutely fundamental to what a better future looks like for us all. If we start to use the idea of beauty and understand it properly, and seriously, that it’s foundational to all life, then we have an opportunity of a very different way of being in this world. It is a fundamental part of reconnecting us, to ourselves and to each other and to the natural world to our souls is soulful. Beauty is our homecoming.”

In this episode, Amisha talks with Alan Moore, author and business innovator. Alan believes beautiful businesses are the future. Described as ‘lovingly disruptive’, Alan’s life mission is to make every business on the planet as beautiful as they can possibly be. He does this by changing the way people think about the world and how their businesses can succeed by being beautiful in every way.

Amisha and Alan speak about the essence of beauty and how we can reclaim its language to create beautiful businesses, futures and cultures. They explore beauty as something that is wholesome and dynamic providing us with the opportunity to walk each other home with empathy, non-judgement, compassion and love.

Together they explore the idea that beauty and regeneration is a universal language, where each of us has a unique voice and a unique gift that is our sovereign land; a land that will provide the fruits for us to become good ancestors of a future where we don’t dehumanise and objectify human beings, and where we might reconcile myopia and colonialism.

Alan shares his personal experiences of opening himself up to the possibilities of beauty that rose out of vulnerabilities and times of personal change. He talks about walking alongside businesses that are seeking to shift their lens away from systems of fear-based leadership and economies of scale into ways of doing where everybody thrives and grows.

We learn that asking the fundamental question ‘Does it matter?” and ‘What legacy do we want to leave?” opens up answers that provide us with insights for weaving powerful new stories that will regenerate our manufacturing, material and most of all personal narratives in service of creating a better world.

“Your interior is this vast landscape. It’s as big as the cosmos in many respects. It’s a terrain that only you or I can traverse. No one else can traverse that terrain ever. That’s yours, that’s your sovereign land.” Alan Moore
