About this interview:

How can we cultivate our intelligence of intuition?

“Intuition is always there. Even if you turn away from it, it’s always going to be there if you turn to it.” ~Sally Kempton

In this special episode, spiritual teacher Sally Kempton speaks with our visionary host Amisha Ghadiali of this globally acclaimed podcast, The Future Is Beautiful that weaves together Politics, Spirituality, Creativity and Sustainability offering us deep, insightful, unedited conversations with inspiring guests.

Amisha has a gift of bringing people into connection with themselves, each other and the Earth. She has hosted many retreats, workshops, programmes and rituals around the world. She creates brave, tender and inclusive spaces.

During this past year Amisha brought alive a book ‘Intuition: Access your inner wisdom, Trust your instincts, Find your path’. The book shares nine principles, and over 50 practices for cultivating our intuition.

Sally says of this book: “As we struggle to solve the issues that face humanity, more and more of us realise that to deal with the challenges that face us, we need access to a deeper intelligence, a wisdom that can cut through the noise and distraction of daily life and show us the path forward. In this luminous book, Amisha Ghadiali points out to us that we have an innate inner wisdom, called intuition, that is key to personal transformation as well as collective problem-solving. Intuition is a clear, inspiring and practical handbook for developing your own inner knowing. Starting from the premise that intuition is an innate form of intelligence that can be developed with practice, Amisha not only defines the forms of intuitive knowing, but offers a series of skilful practices that help you uncover the brilliance of your own intuitive wisdom— the natural inner guidance that can help you make your life meaningful to yourself and genuinely helpful to the world.”

In this conversation Amisha reveals her personal journey of forming a relationship with her intuition; the influence of her upbringing, the de-conditioning from her intellectual patterns, her wilder explorations and near death experiences, all of which guided her to deepen her understanding of the unseen worlds. She shares her learning experiences with teachers and mystics and eventually her coming of age moment in the presence of a tree arriving in a place of trust with herself, her healing modalities and her intuition.

We learn that we all have intuition; an embodied intelligence of individual truths and trusts not guided by systems outside of ourselves. However the dominant cultures that forge our systems have somehow tricked us into thinking that we do not have this innate quality or wisdom within. The practices described in Amisha’s book gently guide us into ways of recognising, refining and cultivating this intelligence as part of our evolution; ways of unleashing this intelligence as a compass leading us into a beautiful future.

“We need to embody intuition, this intelligence, and come into a relationship of deep trust with ourselves and live from that place.” ~Amisha Ghadiali

Sally Kempton was our guest on Episode 8 and Episode 92. She is one of today’s most authentic spiritual teachers. She teaches devotional contemplative tantra—an approach to practice that creates a fusion of knowing and loving. Known for her ability to transmit inner experience through transformative practices and contemplation, Sally has been practicing and teaching for forty years. A disciple of the great Indian guru Swami Muktananda, she spent twenty years as a teaching swami (monk) in the Saraswati order of Indian monks. In her guru’s ashram, she received a traditional training in yoga philosophy and practice, and became a popular teacher, deeply versed in the teachings and practices of Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism.

In 2002, Sally began teaching independently. She now offers heart-to-heart transmission in meditation and life practice through her Awakened Heart Tantra workshops, teleclasses, retreats, and trainings in applied spiritual philosophy. Her workshops and teleconference courses integrate the wisdom of traditional yoga tantra with the insights of contemporary evolutionary spirituality and cutting-edge psychology. Sally is the author of Meditation for the Love of It, a groundbreaking book on meditation, and Awakening Shakti.

Amisha Ghadiali is the host and founder of The Future Is Beautiful. She is interested in where our inner and outer worlds dance.

She works one to one with her Presence Leadership Mentoring programme which supports the transforming of unconscious patterning, opening up new qualities within and anchoring daily practice and rituals which support a lifestyle that recognises the sacred, the importance of intuition and creates deeper connection and embodiment of what this time calls forth in us.

Her own training has included hours of yoga teacher training, meditation teacher training, energy medicine, priestess initiation and deep time learning with mystics, teachers, swamis and nature. This deep commitment to understanding truth combined with over 15 years of experience working in Politics, Design, Tech and Sustainable Fashion gives Amisha a strong base of Community Weaving, Sacred Activism and Innovation.

She had key roles in visionary projects and social enterprises including: Ethical Fashion Forum, Impact Hub, Provenance, Fashion Revolution and Compass. She created the collaborative book, The Future Is Beautiful – A Collection from Think Act Vote. Upon leaving university, she set up her own ethical jewellery label, with the tagline “elegance rebellion” which received several awards and accolades. Amisha brings this creative vision with social justice and the healing arts to everything she does.

Amisha’s words have appeared in publications including The Huffington Post, Rebelle Society & Ecouterre and she has spoken at events and festivals around the world such as TEDx Oxbridge, Bali Spirit Festival, Sunday Papers Live and UnBox.
